From the inbox: Sooncon is the annual southern Ontario conference for makers and hackers running since 2009. As usual we’ve got talks, show and tell, and a party. It will be hosted this year by the DIYode Community Workshop in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Sooncon 2012 is being held on Friday September 28th and Saturday September 29th. Things are picking up around the UnLab and we are prepparing to “move in”. We have received word from the construction crew that they’ll be all done by the end of this week. We’ve started getting the walls ready for the whiteboard paint and so we also want to begin the process of moving in the gear. I stopped by the UnLab space yesterday, had a meeting with some insurance people. That, the insurance, is well on it’s way, we should be insured soon! The space is also looking great. We have rough doors, no locks or knobs yet and the lighting a ventilation is almost done. We also got some more stuff delivered from the Western Recycling Program. Our semi annual Cleanup Build / Purge day is almost upon us. Saturday Oct 1st. 10am – 4pm. Saturday Oct 15th 10am – 4pm. This is the day where we go though the lab and dispose / recycle equipment we no longer have a need for as well as undertake larger building projects.
