UnLondon has always been an member driven organization, and the current Board of Directors has felt that UnLondon demonstrates the potential that exists through collaborative, meritocratic, decision making. Part of the decision making takes place at Annual General Meetings (AGM) and its now time for UnLondon to hold our second one. It will take place this month, on April 17th, at the UnLab (Convergence Centre at the UWO Research Park) starting at 7 pm. There are a number of items to be discussed at the…
On Sept. 25/26, 2010, the UnLab opened its doors to two dozen developers, designers, photographers, students, working professionals, and anyone else that wanted to help out in providing the city of London a trash schedule application. London suffers from a long standing trash schedule that is far from intuitive. The group gathered in this video wanted to change that with a user friendly web application I completely forgot that this time lapse video was created by Jody Bailey which captured the first big event that…
There has been some discussion on the Google Group (here) and the Wiki (here) about a much needed upgrade to unlondon.ca. Given that we want the organization to grow and gain some momentum we figured it would be good to give a facelift to the website so that it is more inviting, so that the information about UnLondon and the UnLab are much clearer and so that it can represent UnLondon in a much better way. Some preliminary work has been started (see below, still…
Hi Everyone. I’ve been busy over the past week moving items from the past two iterations of the UnLondon wiki to a new location, a Google site. After a number of discussion it was determined that the mediawiki platform wasn’t as user friendly and inviting as we had liked it to be and as such we wanted to look for something else to use. The hope is that with a more user friendly interface we’ll have more people interacting with the site and sharing/editing content….

UnLondon is very excited announce that we will be participating in the 2012 Global Game Jam! What is the Global Game Jam? Its a chance for you to build a video (or board) game from scratch in less then 48 hours. Obviously this isn’t something that one person can do, so you’ll need to work with team to get it done. The Global Game Jam provides that team environment and structure. It’s a worldwide event, so as we’re working here in London thousands of other people will…
Its that time of year again! A chance to get together and spend some time thinking back on the year, share stories, relax and enjoy good treats. There will be no open house this Wednesday November 30th as most Unlab regulars (including myself) will be attending Ignite London IV. If you have never been it’s a great event and you should attend. This Saturday Friday, Kevin and I will be doing some work on the Podcast studio so it will not be available from about 10am – 6pm. Tasks to be done include. – pads on the wall – cut a hole in the table for the mics (if that is…
The City of London, in partnership with UnLondon is holding a Open Data contest and we want you there to help us kick it off!
