About

The UnLab is London, Ontario’s own hackerspace. Located at the Convergence Centre at the Western University Research Park, the UnLab is a place where artists, makers and techies converge so that they can gather, create and improve.

The UnLab is the physical space where many of the ideas originating from UnLondon can see the light of day and become a reality.

The UnLab is a playground for ‘big kids’ like you, where you can play with toys, build with tools and meet creative people from around the region. The rules of this playground are what we like to call a work in progress; largely through social, meritocratic, and sometimes democratic phenomenons.

Art + Make + Tech

The UnLab is a place where community members are encouraged to approach a number of areas unconventionally; these areas may include so-called “Maker” culture, social and digital media, steampunk, art and design, even academic pursuits.

The UnLab is a community space with a diverse membership, including artists, computer programmers, web designers, and hardware hackers. It is inspired by the philosophies of the global hackerspace movement which encourages people to socialize, share knowledge, and work together on their projects.

It is within this space that people gather together, create new things (alone or as a group) or improve on something that already exists.

Everyone walks into the UnLab as an equal, regardless of background, experience or knowledge. The UnLab is a space for not only creating but teaching and learning all at the same time.

Membership

Membership to the UnLab provides you with 24hr access to a state of the art HackLab and all the tools and resources it contains to help you see a project to completion.

For only $20 per month (or $200 per year) the UnLab is about the most affordable workspace you’ll find within the city limits!

UnLondon is a registered Non Profit organization set up to challenge and embrace new ideas related to new technologies and social platforms through the education, entertainment and engagement of its membership and the community-at-large.
